For The Record:

The track “I’m Beaming” that was leaked last night was NOT authorized or intentionally leaked by myself or my company.

Plain and simple its STOLEN property. And this goes for ANY record or track that leaks or is made available for illegal download from this day forward.

Actions are being taken and the authorities have been notified.

As a personal plea to all my fans PLEASE DO NOT share, stream, or download any unauthorized or stolen Lupe Fiasco music.

A lot of time and energy goes into the creation of this music, not to mention large sums of money, money provided by my record company as well as from my own personal finances. My music is the product of my life. It means so much to me. I take pride in it and i also take pride in how it changes peoples lives and gives them hope. So to see it treated in this manner really numbs the soul. So many of my family and friends rely on me for their well-being and I rely on my music to give me the opportunities that allow me to provide for them.

So this one i’m taking personal. And I will do ALL that is in my power and my circle of influence to make sure that the persons directly or even remotely responsible for this and any future events involving the piracy and illegal distribution and solicitation of my music will be brought to justice and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Both criminally as well as civilly.

With the history that surrounds the devastating and massive piracy of my first album i’m sure some of you can understand why this very harsh stance that is being taken up. And for those of you unsympathetic enough not to understand i can only compare it to someone breaking into your house and stealing everything not tied down or someone kidnapping you sister or brother and ransoming them back to you. A deep sense of helplessness. I hope you never have to feel this and i wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

A few years ago I got a call from one of the Custom Made dudes (hip-hop group out of LA), Aneek is his name I believe. He said he knew my aunt and she said to holla ‘cus she’s friends with his aunt or something like that. I went along with the story ‘cus dude was mad sincere and humble about wanting to get the best look for him and his people. They were/are (?) signed to the label Babygrande in Cali. After rocking the music that they sent me for awhile, I never got around to showing them love in the mags. Wasn’t ‘cus of anything but me being the oversight king. Always planning on hitting them with some shine, but just not getting around to it. So now they pop up with a dope video for a dope song, glad I’m not a dope for not posting it now.

Yes, even the negative comments. I am glad everyone is so passionate and opinionated. I embrace the idea of dialogue. I always say, If you want people to talk to you, then have a different opinion. I am humbled and grateful to all the supporters and fans for sticking up for me!LOL You guys are the best!

Don’t worry, I got them though, I hit haters back directly on their email, and if it’s really a problem, and they really feeling froggish… I encourage setting up special “meet n greets” just to let them know I’m a real GROWN ASS MAN!!! Don’t let my corny sh#$! fool you LOL!

But what people don’t seem to understand is I am a comic, there is no way to offend me. That’s what WildnOut was all about! My co-workers and best friends (Kevin Hart, Katt Williams, Don Rickles) are the biggest sh@! talkers in the world! I’ve heard it all and laugh it off! I’m just not built with a soft shell. Only thing that I believe is totally unfair, unwarranted, and uncalled for is when people insult my wife. She is the most loving, caring, giving and kind hearted person I have ever met. She doesn’t deserve any of the disrespectful comments that are made about her. And the craziest thing is a lot of these comments come from people who claim to be her biggest fans!!

Please, feel free to say what ever you want about me, I encourage it (I can steal it and put it in my act lol). But I really have a problem with the lies and defamation of my wife’s character. Haters have great imaginations! But as we know the people with the most opinions have the fewest facts! But again thanks for all the motivation! I leave you all now by trusting in this, ” I can’t control what people say about me, but what I can control is them being right about it”. God Bless!
